Moroccan roasted almonds is one of my favorite healthy snacks. I like to make a big batch and keep them in my pantry so I can have a healthy snack on hand at all times.

These salty almonds taste so good with a cup of Moroccan mint tea and it’s super easy to make. You will need just need almonds, salt, and water.

It’s a lot better for you to make your own roasted almonds at home than to buy them at the store. Store-bought roasted almonds are often coated in unhealthy oils and chemicals.

When you make roasted almonds at home, you can control the quality of the ingredients. I like to use organic almonds and unrefined sea salt. But this recipe can do with whatever you have on hand.

The key to making the perfect roasted almond is to roast them at a low temperature. This allows the almonds to slowly cook and develop a deep, rich flavor.

Easy Moroccan Salty Almonds Recipe

Ingredients

  • 250g almonds
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 tbsp water

Preparation

Option 1: Roast the almonds in the oven

  1. Dissolve the salt in the water in a bowl or cup.
  2. Put the almonds in a tray and roast them in a preheated oven at 150C for 10-15 minutes. Take them out of the oven and let them cool down.
  3. Preheat a pan and add the oven-roasted almonds. Spray the salted water on the almonds and stir until all the almonds are coated with slat.
  4. Keep stirring for another minute or two so that the water evaporates and the almonds are dry and crispy.
  5. Let the almonds cool down before you store them in an air-tight container.

Option 2: Dry roast the almonds in a pan

  1. Dissolve the salt in the water in a bowl or cup.
  2. Put the almonds in a dry frying pan on medium heat. Keep stirring until the almonds are light brown and start to smell good. Some of the almonds will start to crack as well.
  3. When the almonds are well roasted, start spraying them with the salted water while you are stirring. Do this until all the water is used up and the almonds are coated with a thin layer of salt.
  4. Keep roasting the almonds in the pan for another 2 to 3 minutes until they are dried out and crispy.
  5. Let the almonds cool down before you store them in an air-tight container.

Tips: Make sure to roast the almonds on low heat. This helps to develop a deeper flavor and prevent the almonds from overcooking or burning.
